Recycling software leader AMCS snaps up US firm

Ireland – Irish recycling software and vehicle technology specialist AMCS Group has acquired PC Scale Technologies, based in Pennsylvania, USA. The deal has thus made AMCS ‘one of the largest worldwide providers’ of solutions in its field, it is claimed.

According to AMCS′ ceo Jimmy Martin, the acquisition of PC Scale Technologies clearly demonstrates the company′s ability to ′leverage to key international growth markets′, following on from the recent investment of Euro 23.5 million by Highland Capital Partners and Investec Ventures.

′With our increased product offerings, implementation and service capabilities, we′ve become the only provider to offer the industry a one-stop solution on a global scale,′ Martin adds.

Donald Tefft, founder and ceo of PC Scale Technologies, comments: ′Our shared values and focus on providing superior customer service were key components of this deal. I have complete confidence that AMCS will maintain this focus and continue delivering the products and service levels that have helped our customers grow and become so successful.′

Since AMCS′ incorporation in 2003, it has dedicated itself to integrating radio frequency identification and on-board weighing with an advanced on-vehicle computer as a means of encouraging more recycling.
