A new Taurus mobile shear baler costing EUR 1 million is the latest investment in recycling technology at Finland’s metal recycling major Kuusakoski.

The machine, produced by C&G of Italy, went into use in November 2021 in Finland. ‘With the new mobile shear baler, the amount of material processed can be over doubled,’ says site manager Esa Nikkanen.

‘Processing capacity can now be optimised,’ adds Tuomas Haikka, sustainability manager at Kuusakoski. ‘The machine can be moved to a location where there is a need for material processing. This reduces material transport and is reflected in lower emissions. Fewer miles driven means fewer emissions.’
