Rival eyes Reclaim’s rubber operations

Australia – Australia’s Carbon Polymers Ltd (CbP) is in final negotiations to acquire fellow tyre recycler Reclaim Industries Ltd – an Adelaide-based rubber manufacturer and a provider of rubber tyre recycling services which was put into administration last January.

CbP says it plans to acquire all of the assets and operations of its competitor, enabling the company to develop a growth profile in areas in which it has not focused to date. Reclaim’s national footprint will boost CbP’s ability to enter into nationwide collection agreements with tyre retailers. Its operations in Western Australia and South Australia will also serve as launch-pads for a CbP foray into the largely untapped mining sector. Its spare plant capacity will immediately fill the product supply shortfall experienced by Reclaim.

Reclaim is Australia’s largest tyre recycler and has affiliates in Western and South Australia, Victoria, New South Wales, Queensland and the Australian Capital Territory (ACT).
