PET bottle recycling: overcoming the label problem

Italy – Italian machinery maker Amut SpA has launched a new range of de-labeller machines that enable the recycling of PET bottles with PVC or PET-G sleeves.

Bottles are fed into the machine via a conveyor belt and the shrink-sleeve labels are removed dry, extracted from the belt and conveyed to a compactor or container. Any remaining labels are removed downstream using an air system or ballistic sieve.

The equipment works in a continuous process. The company is proposing three different sizes of machine ranging in capacity from 1 tonne to 6 tonnes per hour.
