US concern Ecore International has acquired HTI Recycling, a company focused on tyre collection, recycling and crumb rubber manufacturing.
Ecore, a specialist in high-performance reclaimed materials such as athletics tracks based in Pennsylvania, US, has not disclosed the financial terms of buying the Langport, New York outfit.
Ceo Art Dodge says: ‘This acquisition is a meaningful step in Ecore’s strategy to rid the world of rubber waste by strengthening our supply chain and expanding our scale. We are constantly evaluating opportunities to build on our core strategy of circularity and this acquisition helps to carry this forward.’
Impressive record
He praised HTI founder Derek Martin and his team for ‘establishing an impressive record of accomplishment of service and quality at all stages of the recycling process’.
According to media reports, HTI Recycling traces its roots to reclaiming and recycling used beer barrels before an expansion into tyre recycling and the rubber products manufacturing sectors. The workforce of around 80 is expected to be incorporated into Ecore.
