Germany / Poland – The Polish unit of German-based stainless steel processing group Cronimet is to establish a new plant in the port of Szczecin for processing alloyed scrap.
Cronimet Poland expects to begin operations by the second half of 2012 after clarifying technical and economic parameters. It has already signed a declaration of intent with the management of Szczecin and the neighbouring the port of Swinoujscie.
Cronimet Poland, located in Inowroclaw, is one the leaders in the country’s stainless steel scrap market. ‘The establishment of the new location can extend this division’s trading and recycling operations,’ said Michael Vogel, from the executive board of Cronimet Poland. Investment in the regional market would improve the supply chain to customers, he added.
