WRAP has developed a fully searchable database of UK reprocessors and traders to provide the most appropriate and nearest solutions for those companies looking to send waste plastics for recycling and those wanting to buy recycled polymers.
The website (www.recycleplastic.org.uk) covers around 90 accredited reprocessors and traders of waste plastics in the UK; these are drawn from all sectors – industrial, packaging, construction waste and domestic. In the case of reprocessors, the search facility can be further refined so that those engaged in processing plastics into flake or pellet for onward sale can be easily identified by manufacturers wanting to use recycled polymers in their processes.
According to WRAP, this is the only searchable website in the UK which boasts this function. The site is focused on two main targets: local authorities, waste management companies and private businesses from any sector which have plastics waste available for recycling; and manufacturing companies looking to source recycled polymers for their manufacturing processes.
