United States – US-based Resource Recycling Systems (RRS) has announced the appointment of Anne Johnson as Vice President and Senior Consultant. She will be mainly responsible for leading the development of a new Global Corporate Sustainability practice for the Michigan-headquartered business.
For the past seven years, Ms Johnson led the Sustainable Packaging Coalition at non-profit company GreenBlue of Charlottesville. According to RRS, she has accumulated 15 years of ‘exceptional knowledge’ of sustainable design and recovery, as well as of applied life-cycle management methodologies.
Her new role is ‘a natural extension for RRS’s collaborative work in greening the supply chain’, it says. Clients include the Carton Council of North America and their Carton Recycling Access Initiative.
‘The business world is shifting to where markets are emerging, populations are large and infrastructure to manage waste just doesn’t exist,’ states Ms Johnson.The Global Corporate Sustainability practice for RSS will cover a full range of sustainability strategies for energy, water, waste and packaging both at the enterprise level and within global supply chains, she adds.
