Dutch company MaTech – European distributor of the MiniSort metals analyser, Taurus scrap shears and Rigby cable strippers – has recently started marketing a complete new range of alligator shears which will be distributed exclusively in the European recycling market.
Hydraulic alligator shears are used in scrap yards around the world to cut a variety of materials such as aluminium profile, cable, copper tubes, brass fittings, radiators and stainless steel.
’What sets our new shears apart is the blade lengths of the different models, which are at least 10% longer than those of other machines,’ explains MaTech’€™s Managing Director Marc van de Wijdeven. ‘€˜The advantage is that cutting capabilities are increased. In addition, the cutting forces of our alligator shears are very powerful. The main difference lies in the angle of the cutting cylinder, which is more vertical compared with other machines.’€™
While many other machines look to achieve stability via a huge tank filled with oil, the MaTech alligator shear is equipped with a compact and easy-to-release tank with only the necessary amount of oil required for the hydraulics. The electric motor is mounted on the tank.
