Herbold Meckesheim has secured a repeat order from Turkish recycler Doğa PET for a second PET bottle washing line.
The installation will double the company’s recycling capacity at its Kırklareli facility in Türkiye. Once operational, the new system will allow Doğa to produce around 200 tonnes of rPET flakes per day.
The German machinery specialist confirmed that preparations for delivery are underway. The first shipments are scheduled for early March. Installation and commissioning will begin shortly afterwards.
Proven line leads to expansion
Doğa PET already operates a Herbold washing line at the site. That system has run continuously since the first quarter of 2024, producing rPET flakes for recycling markets.
‘The first washing line has been running reliably since its commissioning and consistently delivers the product quality we require,’ says Ömer Ayvacı, chairman of the board of the Doğa Group.
‘Based on this positive experience, expanding capacity with a second line from Herbold Meckesheim was a logical step.’
Capacity and process improvements
The new installation largely follows the same technical layout as the existing system. However, several process modules have been upgraded following operational experience. Key technologies include forced-feeding granulators, a batch hot-wash system and hydrocyclone density separation.
Meanwhile, pre-sorting capacity will increase to eight tonnes per hour. Herbold will supply a debaler and a washing drum that combines wet and dry processing stages in a single unit. These changes aim to stabilise throughput while improving overall efficiency.
Project delivery and support
Herbold Meckesheim will manage the project from logistics to commissioning. The company will also provide on-site installation support and operator training.
‘Repeat orders confirm that customers value both our technology and our project partnership,’ says Stefan Lachenmayer, global commercial director recycling and md at Herbold Meckesheim.
He added that the project shows how scalable systems can support long-term growth in plastics recycling.
RePlast Eurasia showcase
Herbold Meckesheim will present its plastics recycling technologies together with extrusion specialist Coperion at RePlast Eurasia 2026.
The event takes place from 26–28 March in Istanbul. Visitors can explore integrated solutions designed to increase efficiency and automation in plastics recycling systems.
