Europe – Leading textiles recycler Texaid has taken over fellow Swiss textile recycling firm Contex AG. The latter’s founders Hans Rudolf Benjamin and Urs Fischer will relinquish their management positions at the end of December 2010. By acquiring Switzerland’s second largest company in the field, Texaid has significantly increased its market share in Europe; in addition to Switzerland, the company also has operations in Germany, Hungary and Bulgaria.
