A new recycling facility in Blacksburg, South Carolina has received US$ 75 million (EUR 65 million) in funding from a Chinese investment firm.
E-scrap, scrap metal, and post-consumer plastics will be processed at Green Tech Solution’s new site in Cherokee County due to come online in the second quarter of this year.
The expansion will create 200 new jobs, according to the company, a subsidiary of Chinese investment group Tianjin Sheng Xin Non-Financing Guarantee Co. It is currently looking for recycling specialists to run the operation.
Governor Henry McMaster applauds Tianjin’s decision to open the new facility in South Carolina. ‘South Carolina has been attracting business from all over the world for years because we have worked hard to create a business friendly climate and a workforce that is second to none,’ he says.
The governor adds: ‘We’re thrilled that Green Tech Solution has chosen to join the ranks of international companies that call our state home and look forward to many years of success.’
