Finland’s recycling major Kuusakoski has acquired Tramel Oy, boosting its position in electronics recycling.

Founded in 2008, Finnish recycler Tramel Oy operates in seven locations across Finland. The company’s turnover was EUR 7.5 million in 2025 and it employs more than 60 people.

‘With the acquisition, we strengthen our position as a recycler of electrical and electronic equipment,’ says ceo Tapio Kuusakoski. ‘Tramel will continue to operate under its own name and as its own limited liability company.’

Ex-owners stay

Former owner and ceo Harri Niukkanen has been appointed chief commercial officer of Tramel. ‘I am proud of Tramel’s development, growth and expertise’, he says. ‘The transfer of ownership to the experienced hands of Kuusakoski ensures that Tramel will continue to grow and serve its customers with even higher quality.’

Former owner Santeri Mäkelä has been appointed chief operating officer.
