FCC Enviro has acquired Cumbria Waste Group, bolstering its presence and service offering in the north of England.
Cumbria Waste Group provides waste solutions to both municipal and commercial clients. Its operations include material recovery facilities, composting sites, treatment for hazardous and liquid waste, and household waste recycling centres. The company also runs recycling, waste and organic collection services.
The deal strengthens the position of FCC Enviro’s UK arm, FCC Environment UK, one of the country’s largest waste and resource management companies. The acquisition gives FCC broader geographical reach and allows it to expand into new service areas with existing and prospective customers.
‘Natural fit’
FCC Environment UK ceo Steve Longdon described the move as a natural fit. ‘This is another very positive step for our business here in the UK, further strengthening our core services and our customer service proposition. With strong cultural and operational alignment between the businesses, we are looking forward to welcoming the Cumbria Waste Group team and to continuing to deliver exceptional services both to existing and to our new clients.’
The terms of the purchase from Waterland Private Equity have not been disclosed. FCC Enviro, through FCC Environment UK, has been operating in the British market since 1989.
