Belgian recycler taken over by Remondis

Belgium – Recycling major Remondis has expanded its activities in Belgium by acquiring BVBA Vervoer Depoorter, which is claimed to be the local market leader when it comes to waste management and waste container services. The Euro 5 million turnover company processes some 80 000 tonnes of scrap per year.

Headquartered in Ostende, described by Remondis as ‘a region with great growth potential thanks to its connection to major European sea ports’, Depoorter has always been a family-run business.

The takeover deal includes all 31 of Depoorter’s workers as well as the company’s trucks and facilities. Stefaan Pillen and Mark Depoorter will be responsible for the management of the business.
