Apple extends its recycling efforts

France/Germany/UK – Apple has added the iPhone and iPad to its hardware recycling initiatives in France, Germany and the UK. Customers can now exchange used Macs, iPods, iPhones and iPads for store credits or for cash. European electronics recycler Dataserv Group will be handling intake of the used devices.

The move brings the three European countries into line with Apple’s recycling programme in the USA where the public receives store gift cards and discounts. The scheme in Europe directly deposits cash into the bank accounts of customers recycling their used electronics.

Apple offers free recycling programmes in the USA, Canada, Australia, parts of Asia, Europe, Africa, the Middle East, Brazil and Costa Rica.
