Europe – Christian Korn, Vice President Commercial of the Slovenia-based integrated steel company US Steel KoÅ¡ice, has taken over the presidency of the Association of European Producers of Steel for Packaging (APEAL). He succeeds Robert J. Beltz and will now head up APEAL’s mission of ‘ensuring the widespread understanding of steel as a sustainable packaging solution’.
Mr Korn joined the executive board of Germany’s ThyssenKrupp Stahl Service Center GmbH in 2002, later serving as Chairman, and has also worked for Essar Steel Europe, Saint Gobain and ArcelorMittal – holding various sales positions before rising to the position of Managing Director of Service Centres in Germany, France and Benelux.
