Germany – Bernhard Reiling, the new President of the German Federal Association of Secondary Raw Materials and Waste Management (bvse), has assured the organisation’s latest meeting in Dresden that, like his predecessor, he will continue to ‘adopt a combative attitude towards any parties or communities attempting to penalise medium recycling players’.
Mr Reiling stated: ‘It is the private companies that help advance our economy. And so, our common goal must be to represent them in the political, industrial as well as commercial arena.’ In his speech, Mr Reiling also pointed out that Germany can only stay strong and maintain its prosperity if it ‘consistently uses the secondary materials available on the domestic market’.
The new bvse President is a 52-year-old entrepreneur and specialist in glass recycling, took over the presidency of bvse from Burkhard Landers who has become Honorary President of the organisation.
