Major recycling appointment at Aurubis

Germany – With effect from May 1, Dr Frank Schneider becomes member of the executive board at Germany-based copper giant Aurubis AG with responsibility for the recycling/precious metals division. He succeeds Dr Michael Landau who will retire on May 31. Dr Schneider will also take over the position of director of industrial relations from Dr Landau.

Dr Schneider previously worked at the Solvay group, most recently as its head of industrial operations RBU Essential Chemicals Europe, in which position he was responsible for 18 European sites and 4700 employees. Also while at Solvay, his roles included plant manager and managing director of a company facility in Bulgaria.

Dr Schneider has also worked at Matthes & Weber of Duisburg and Plibrico of Neuwied. Dr Schneider has been appointed to the executive board for a term of three years. ‘We are pleased that we have found a competent and internationally-experienced manager for this interesting position who will continue the successful development of Aurubis together with the other executive board members,’ comments Prof. Heinz Jörg Fuhrmann, chairman of the Aurubis supervisory board.
