BIR mourns passing of Andrey Moiseenko

Ukraine – Andrey Moiseenko of Ukrainian metals recycling company Ukrmet, who was a long-time member of the BIR world recycling association’s ferrous division board, has passed away. The division’s president Bill Schmiedel has expressed his ‘deep sadness’ at the news.

Moiseenko joined the ferrous board in 2010 ‘and contributed his excellent knowledge of the ferrous market situation in Russia and Ukraine’, says Schmiedel.

‘Andrey and his company Ukrmet Ltd worked diligently with the Ukrainian Metal Scrap Association to help draft regulations in the steel recycling sector.’

Prior to Ukrmet, Moiseenko was export sales director at MAIR Industrial Group. Through his reports on the Ukrainian and Russian markets to the BIR World Mirror on Ferrous Metals, Moiseenko kept association members abreast of latest scrap-related trading and regulatory developments in both countries.
