New granulator ‘fits like a glove’, says e-scrap recycler

United Kingdom – Replacing an old granulator with a new, advanced piece of equipment can make a big difference, CSS Recycling of Newbury in the UK has learned following the installation of a ZM1020 granulator from THM Recycling Solutions GmbH of Germany.

A specialist in electronics recycling, CSS Recycling’s line features a granulator for the further size-reduction of the residual fraction from a sorting line. This fraction consists mainly of non-ferrous metals, plastics and circuit boards which were previously shredded by a crossflow shredder, or turbo crusher.

The old granulator, also supplied by THM, had been in operation since 1997 and has now been replaced by an identical but new model type, the ZM1020.

‘The new granulator fits like a glove, millimetre perfect,’ comments CSS Recycling’s managing director Andrew Braysher. ‘The engineers that came to install the machine did a grand job and it was a great pleasure to work with them. And we hope to be able to work with them again in the future as we would have no hesitation in buying more machines from THM.’

With more than 25 years of experience in the recycling industry, CSS Recycling operates a comprehensive transport network and can collect bulk used electronics, drop-off bins, cages or pallets at site.

Meanwhile, THM is a sales and marketing company which forms part of Maschinenbau Ehehalt GmbH of Eppingen-Mühlbach in Germany – a company with 30-plus years of expertise in developing and manufacturing recycling machinery, with more than a thousand units installed worldwide.

Its product portfolio includes granulators, turbo crushers, cutting mills, hammer mills, shredders and also pre-shredder equipment.
