IFAT Eurasia meets great expectations

Turkey – The IFAT Eurasia show, which took place in the Turkish capital Ankara last week, attracted 11 000 visitors and 243 exhibitors representing 400 companies from 75 different countries.

The trade fair has become ‘a new hub’ for green technologies in an upcoming market, notes Stefan Rummel, managing director of event organiser Messe München. ‘This premiere proved that taking a step into this new market was the right decision,’ he adds. ‘An entirely new centre for the environmental technology industry has been established here.’

Delegates were drawn from far and wide, including Greece, Iran, Israel, Kazakhstan, Lithuania, the Russian Federation and Tunisia. Among the prominent officials to attend the event was Gratiela Leocadia Gavrilesco, Romania’s minister of environment, water and forestry. She observed that IFAT Eurasia provided ‘an important bridge’ between Romania and Turkey, adding that such an event ‘has been missing’.

Turkey’s minister of forestry and water affairs Prof. Dr. Veysel Eroğlu comments: ‘IFAT Eurasia in Ankara shows the strong interest of international investors in Turkey. It underlines impressively the importance of the Turkish environmental sector.’
