Diversity and innovation go hand in hand

Germany – Packaging waste has grown by 13% over the last decade in Germany, reports the country’€™s environmental organization Deutsche Umwelthilfe. This means innovative recycling equipment has to be introduced to deal with the growing stream of material. Many hi-tech solutions will be presented at the Recycling Technik trade show, which will take place in Dortmund on 10 and 11 May.

Over 240 recycling technology suppliers will showcase their latest products across four halls – their solutions cover the entire spectrum of recycling technologies.

Whether looking for a brand-new baler, sorting system, shredder, crushers, sieving machines or conveyor belts, virtually anything that could help boost operations in the waste management and recycling sector will be represented.

The number of exhibitors has already risen by 15% for the 4th edition of the event. Some new names are RETO recycling technology, Haas Recycling and HAAKE. The ever-increasing popularity of Recycling Technik will ensure an even greater variety of solutions, says Daniel Eisele, Group Event Director and exhibition manager for the show organiser Easyfairs Germany.

Diversity, she argues, is definitely a driving factor behind the success of the exhibition. Eisele adds that a total of 450 exhibitors and 6561 visitors were drawn to Dortmund when the last edition was held in 2015.

New technology is complemented by 100 lectures by academia and industry specialists on five open-to-all stages, as well as guided tours and the first International Cooperation Exchange.

Start-ups from the Dortmund region will enjoy a special spotlight at the WFZruhr network pavilion. For the first time, innovative projects by nominated participants of the 2017 DGAW Science Congress will be presented.

SOLIDS Dortmund (focussing on the treatment of solid goods) is being organised in parallel with Recycling Technik.
