NUCOR’S GREEN DRIVE
Nucor has signed an agreement with
Mercedes-Benz to supply its Econiq-
RE greener steel product from its US
manufacturing plant in Tuscaloosa,
Alabama. The Econiq brand was
launched in 2022 and is certified to be
manufactured with low-embodied car-
bon materials. Econiq-RE is made with
100% renewable energy and green-
house gas emissions are reduced to
less than half that of steel produced by
extractive blast furnaces (Scopes 1, 2
dumped and will make a preliminary
decision within 90 days.
Meanwhile, the US Department of
Commerce (DOC) has announced the
results of sunset reviews into anti-
dumping duty orders on rebar from
Belarus, China, Indonesia, Latvia,
Moldova, Poland and Ukraine. It found
that revoking the orders from the
seven countries would be likely to lead
to a continuation or recurrence of
dumping.

(CBSA) has launched an antidumping
duty investigation to determine
whether certain wire rod from China,
Egypt, and Vietnam are being sold at
unfair prices in Canada. The investiga-
tion follows a complaint by Ivaco
Rolling Mills. CBSA is investigating
whether the imports are being
