What to expect
at IFAT 2024?
Tradeshow season is about to resume, kicked off by the highly anticipated IFAT
fair in Munich. Recycling International lists some technological updates to help
you prepare for your visit.
‘We are looking forward to showcasing
our shredder in Munich,‘ says Gerd
Tischner, sales manager at Lindner.
‘The modular cutting system offers
maximum flexibility. Depending on the
material stream and the output materi-
al requirements, you can choose
between a blade or pointed knife sys-
tem.’
Lindner will also display cutting system
innovations within the popular Komet
series. It is seen as a benchmark in sec-
ondary shredding due to the improved
ease of maintenance with screwable
knife holders.
In addition, a new Urraco shaft pair
will be showcased, which has been
specifically developed for scrap recy-
cling and significantly increases effi-
ciency. If used as a coarse primary
shredder upstream of a hammer mill
or a cross flow shredder, it maximises
the hammer mill’s output and reduces
the need for maintenance.
DOPPBASKET
Doppstadt is presenting its latest
model in the Inventhor series. The
innovative solution builds on the suc-
cess of the previous 6 and 9 models
and promises ‘even greater efficiency
and user-friendliness’.
Launched in 2018, the Inventhor has
helped customers around the world.
Around 120 000 visitors and 30 000
exhibitors from around the world are
expected at the upcoming IFAT trade
show in Germany. A growing number
are focussing on the circular economy.
Important themes of this year’s edition
are:
• digitalisation of the recycling industry
• energy-efficient operations
• integrated recycling solutions
• smart sorting
• data-driven logistics
• material flow mapping
• future-proof recycling innovations
PROTECTING THE ROTOR
Stahlwerke Bochum (SWB) is looking
forward to presenting its latest recy-

ation of this digital tool will deliver more proactive maintenance, machine optimisation,
and ease of aftercare benefits.
cling technology for wear parts at the
IFAT trade show in Munich. The parts
have been widely praised for their reli-
ability and sustainable design. This
year, the company’s focus is on provid-
ing solutions to help recyclers reduce
CO2 impacts and operational costs.
SWB is promoting its shredder protec-
tion solutions at Booth 429 in Hall B4.
Its portfolio includes a surveillance of
the entire production process while
extensive controls guarantee the con-
sistently high quality of SWB products.
Among developments are shredder
hammers with a structured inner cir-
cumferential surface of the bearing
opening, shredder hammers with an
enhanced bearing opening, and a
rotor protection cap that is re-
enforced on one side.
With its products being made from
steel scrap, SWB is fully involved in the
steel recycling process of its customers.
‘We are permanently researching pio-
neering solutions against wear, thus
offering customers innovative wear parts
that are optimised for their respective
areas of application,’ the company says.
‘Our team looks forward to outlining the
advantages of these internationally pat-
ented striking tools and to provide infor-
mation about the full SWB programme
of wear parts and components for the
entire shredding process.’
SWB advises customers on site in
more than 50 countries worldwide.
POWERFUL SHREDDERS
Come to Booth 251/350 in Hall B6 to
witness Lindner’s shredder innova-
tions. The focus will be on classic input
materials such as commercial, industri-
al and municipal solid waste, waste
wood and scrap.
Its team will also prepare an expert
talk diving into the mechanical and
chemical recovery of plastics. The key
challenge Lindner sees is demonstrat-
ing to people how to become a ‘waste
transformer’.
The tech provider says it developing
all-in-one solutions, catering to specif-
ic recycling needs. An addition to its
portfolio is the new stationary univer-
sal shredder with twin-shaft technolo-
gy. The machine is primarily geared
towards waste wood, industrial and
commercial waste, and bulky metal
scrap. The second new product is an
electrically powered semi-mobile sin-
gle-shaft shredder with an indepen-
dent track drive. The unit covers an
even wider range of input materials
compared to previous models thanks
to its modular cutting system.
