COPEX premieres REFLEX shears

TSC releases non-ferrous ‘Rascal’

French manufacturer COPEX has
unveiled a range of mobile scrap
shears bearing the name REFLEX.
These have been developed for
compacting and shearing weld-
ed structures, white goods, car
bodies, collected scrap and all
kinds of non-ferrous metals.
The REFLEX series comprises three mod-
els, all of which are said to be ‘ideal’ tools
to process scrap materials both rapidly
and economically. Equipped with an
‘extremely efficient’ shear with a cutting
force of either 500 tonnes, 650 tonnes
or 900 tonnes, the new COPEX equip-
ment is claimed to produce high-quality
bales. An innovative slide guiding system
is integrated into the design for high cut-

Swedish recycling technology
expert MRT System International
has expanded its portfolio with
the launch of the Flat Panel Pro-
cessor FPP60. The new tool will
help recycle up to 60 flat panel
screens per hour, it is claimed.
‘The production result yields fractions
such as plastic films, metals and printed
circuit boards of very high quality, with

German recycling technology
specialist Vecoplan has devel-
oped a high-performance, heavy-
duty re-shredder known as the
VEZ 2500 which, it is claimed, is
best suited to the generation of
refuse-derived fuel out of pro-
duction and sorting residues.
The VEZ 2500 is a compact, single-shaft
unit for shredding of pre-shredded fer-
rous/non-ferrous and air-classified recy-
clables. It also retrieves the high calorific
fraction from domestic and municipal
solid waste, explains Vecoplan.
The shredding unit consists of a large
cylindrical solid steel rotor and two solid
counter knives. The latter deliver a ‘very
homogeneous output particle structure’

US manufacturer TSC has
announced the launch of its Por-
table 6060 Little Rascal Top and
Bottom Discharge (TBD) Shred-
der System.
Equipped with a feed system with
40-degree feed ramp, the TBD is her-
alded as a modern-day ferrous separa-
tion solution. It features a tilt table,
single feed roll with hydraulic drive,
four completely portable trailers as well

tenance costs by roughly a third, accord-
ing to the manufacturer. The ‘balanced
distribution’ of cutting efforts consider-
ably increases the reliability of the shear
frame, it adds.
In developing the REFLEX range, the
company’s aim was ‘combining mobility
and robustness’, it notes. Besides mobile
configurations with three, four or six
axles, semi-mobile shears are also avail-
able.

a minimum of manual labour involved,’
states MRT. A major advantage of the
FPP60 is that it can replace ‘the greater
part’ of the manual disassembly required
for this type of product.
In the process, integrated saw blades cut
open the flat panel to enable further
disassembly of the unit, with safe isola-
tion of the integrated and mercury-con-
taining fluorescent lamps. MRT’s FPP 60
is ventilated and comes with a ‘top-of-
the-line ventilation system’ to improve
the safety and reliability of the process.

rotor tooth cutters in the form of
V-shaped ‘hardened single cut-
ters’, as well as counter knives
consisting of six individual
segments. Heat-up is reduced
owing to the very small cut-
ting gap, thus saving energy
and maximising throughput capacity.
