Elretur is a take back system for WEEE owned by the Norwegian sector organisations: The Consumer Electronics
Trade Foundation, ICT Norway, The Electrical Household Appliances Suppliers Association and Abelia. Elretur is
an operating company that fulfils the statutory collective obligations of original equipment manufacturers (OEM)
through the purchase and administration of collection, transport and treatment services for WEEE. In 2011 Elretur
collected approx. 50 000 tons WEEE.
Elretur will award contracts for the treatment of WEEE within specified
geographic areas (counties/regions) to one or more contractors.
The work comprise single, few or all product groups for each
contractual area. In order to be considered, bidders must establish a
legal entity in Norway; cf. the Norwegian Transfrontier Shipment of
Waste Regulations for WEEE and other legislation. The contract will
commence on 1.1.2014.

PREQUALIFICATION
NATIONWIDE SCHEME FOR WEEE TREATMENT,
MANAGEMENT OF HAZARDOUS WASTE AND TRADING OF METALS
Elretur Norway invites companies to participate a prequalification
process for tender competition including solutions for treatment
and recycling services of WEEE that encompass:
1 Establish a central reception plant located in the collection
region
2 Reception, registration and treatment of WEEE
3 Collection of WEEE from external hubs in the regions
4 Procurement and administration of cargo carriers
(cages and containers) fit to the reception logistics
5 Environmental treatment of fractions of hazardous waste
for final treatment
6 Trading of metals and other valuable fractions from Elreturs
products
7 Reporting to Elretur pursuant to established routines in
order to fulfil the authorities’ requirements
