SICON enables ‘affordable’ non-ferrous
separation

First-time loading success with LOADRITE

No hassle thanks to ‘ultra-compact’ baler

pressure on shredding opera-
tions, it is important to maxi-

increase the non-ferrous metal

due has introduced a new line of
highly accurate sensor sorters.

released the LOADRITE L2150
wheel loader scale which is said
to ‘provide certainty that trucks
will be loaded to the optimal
weight, fi rst time’.
The L2150 has been designed specifi –
cally for bucket excavators and offers
increased weighing accuracy and reli-
ability with entry-level data manage-
ment. ‘Using this weighing system,
trucks are neither under-loaded nor
overloaded, with the ensuing associated
productivity losses and excess machine
wear problems, respectively, all but
eliminated,’ says the manufacturer.
The wheel loader scale is equipped with

Capable of handling plastics, cardboard,

non-ferrous metal separation, SICON’s
latest development can detect and sepa-
rate copper particles measuring less than
2 mm from the heavy shredder fraction
or shredder residue. The sorters are said
to be suitable for operations handling
between one and 30 tonnes per hour.
‘The SICON-Zorba-Upgrade is based on
the industry-proven and benchmark-set-
ting VariSort-Sensor machines, combined
with metal, optical and/or X-Ray-Sensor
technology,’ notes the manufacturer. The
equipment is said to eliminate overloading
issues and also recognises the light alu-
minium fraction, it adds.

the B2000 is a ‘very compact and con-
venient’ device with dimensions of 28 x
28 x 88 inches (71 x 71 x 224 cm) such
that it takes up half the space of most
balers on the market today, it is claimed.
Designed to accept conventional 120 V
electrical hook-ups, the B2000 ‘is high-
ly mobile and can power through the
toughest jobs’, says Green Tower Indus-
tries.
As it removes ‘all the hassle’ associated
with an oversized conventional baler,
this recent release has already become
‘quite a favourite’ among restauran-
teurs, grocery stores and small busi-
nesses alike, says the company.

Erdwich unveils robust coarse shredder

German technology specialist
Erdwich Zerkleinerungssysteme
has introduced the RM 1350/2
coarse shredder in order to han-
dle the increasing volumes of
waste electrical and electronic
equipment.
The new machine incorporates a two-
shaft rotor ripping system, shredding
e-scrap ranging from coffee-makers to
washing machines both slowly and care-
fully ‘so that only a very small quantity
of condensers and batteries are
deformed’. Material can be shredded
both in forward and reverse mode.
The robust shredding tools are made of
special wear-resistant steel and do not
have to be removed for reconditioning,
but can be regenerated quickly and eco-
nomically in situ simply by welding,

according to Erdwich. Each cutting shaft
is driven individually by a double-
reduced elastic-supported torque motor;
an automatic central lubrication system
is included. There is no ‘seizing-up’ of
cutting tools during longer idle running,
Erdwich also points out.
The RM 1350/2 coarse shredder is avail-
able in two sizes with cutting lengths of
either 1500 mm or 2000 mm, boasting
drive powers of 2 x 45 kW or 2 x 75 kW
for throughput rates of between 3 and
12 tonnes per hour.
