Multi-million tyre recycling plant for Estato

Germany – German recycler Estato Umweltservice GmbH will launch a new plant to process scrap tyres. The facility is to be built on the company’€™s existing site at Weiden at a cost of some Euro 3.5 million (US$ 4.6 million).

Through this its third plant, Estato is looking to recover rubber granules, tyre wire and textile fibre to meet growing market demand using a custom-developed collection and sorting method capable of processing large quantities of tyres; those in relatively good condition are set aside for sale to retread manufacturers, while the remainder are pelletised and sold to the rubber processing industry.

The facility’€™s major customers will include German automotive specialist ATU Auto-parts-Unger, whose overall recycling needs have been covered by Estato for several years.

  • I certainly hope that someone has cracked the method of recycling tyres! It’s always a great sign when a tyre retailer has good recycling in place and can get a lot of extra customers this way. I know for us, as we are looking this is an important factor. Keep up the good work!
