Nestlé: stay hydrated, keep recycling!

United States – Leading food and drinks brand Nestlé has created 100% food-grade recycled plastic packaging for its Pure Life Purified Water. The eco-conscious 700-ml polyethylene water bottle have already hit stores across North America this month.

The launch of Nestlé’s premium design water bottle made entirely from recycled plastic is intended to inspire a healthier and brighter future that starts with water.

A recycling awareness campaign forms part of the bottle’s launch; its production process is showcased in a video shared on Nestlé’s social media channels as well as on its website.

It is hoped this eco-focus will encourage consumers to recycle the bottles they keep at home.

Nestlé also points out that it has reduced the amount of virgin polyethelyne in its Pure Life half-litre bottles by 40% since 2005.

‘Environmental sustainability is an integral part of our company’s purpose and heritage,’ comments Antonio Sciuto, executive vice president for Nestlé Waters North America. ‘Our new bottle made from 100% recycled plastic for our namesake brand is the latest way we’re satisfying consumer demand for healthy hydration on-the-go and inspiring consumers to recycle.’
