Chinese investment in US bottle recycling plant

United States – China’s JN Fibers Inc. is investing US$ 45 million in a US facility where PET bottles will be processed into recycled-content polyester fibres.

Zhejiang-based JN Fibers is establishing the new business at an existing building in Richburg, South Carolina. The fibre generated will be used in home textiles, furniture and upholstery, as well as by the automotive industries.

The project will create more than 318 jobs, according to the South Carolina Department of Commerce.

While JN Fibers will operate the plastics recycling venture, the finished products will be sold through its subsidiary Sun Fibers LLC.
