Final conference for IMPACTPapeRec separate collection project

Belgium – The IMPACTPapeRec project, launched almost two years ago with the aim of boosting separate collection of paper for recycling and promoting appropriate schemes to avoid landfilling and incineration, will reach its conclusion early in 2018 with a final conference taking place in the Belgian capital Brussels.

The event on January 24 will address the main outcome of the project – ‘The good and best practice handbook for the collection of paper and board for recycling’ – as well as important milestones and lessons learned throughout the project’s two-year run.

Municipalities that have not participated in the project are being invited to join a subsequent workshop in order to help them identify the best solutions for increasing separate paper collections in their own jurisdictions. Also to be discussed will be the opportunities that increased collections and implementation of separate collection schemes can present.

The IMPACTPapeRec project has been financed by the EU’s Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme.
