Spain – Metal Bulletin Events returns to Barcelona for the fourth time for its latest Copper Recycling Conference, with the Spanish city being hailed as a hub for some of the key innovators in this field.
The event will focus on copper’s reuse and recycling dynamics, touching upon such subjects as: mining versus recycled copper; economic developments and copper prices; latest market trends in Asia, Europe and North America; e-scrap and copper; and the potential offered by emerging technologies.
Speakers will include: Murat Bayram, director & head of European Non-Ferrous at EMR in Germany; Dan Smith, ceo at Dan Smith Commodities Research in the UK; Emmanouel Fountoukis, metals division director at Halcor SA in Greece; and Norbert Zonneveld, executive secretary of the European Electronics Recyclers Association.
As copper scrap’s importance has grown, the value chain ‘has become more complex’ while recycling data continue to be ‘vague and opaque’, suggests Metal Bulletin Events, adding that the Barcelona conference will provide ‘a transparent and informative discussion’ of the key issues affecting copper recycling.
In addition to providing insight from experts from across the globe, the conference will also include a trip to La Farga’s plant at Les Masies de Voltregà . Dating back to 1808, the company manufactures semi-finished copper products and their alloys for the electrical, metal packaging, railway, piping, automotive, billet and special conductor markets.
