Global – Sachin Satpute is to become senior vice president of aluminium rolling and recycling world leader Novelis Inc. and president of Novelis Asia with effect from June 1.
Formerly chief marketing officer at Hindalco Industries, he has also been director of business development & innovation and vice president of sales, marketing & technical services at Novelis Asia, as well as managing director of Aluminium Company of Malaysia Berhad (ALCOM). Satpute will be based in Seoul, South Korea, and will report directly to Novelis president and ceo Steve Fisher.
‘His wealth of knowledge, leadership history and understanding of our business in Asia and the broader industry will further develop our market position as the leader in flat rolled products in Asia and globally,’ Fisher comments.
Novelis, which operates in 11 countries and reported revenues of more than US$ 11 billion for its 2015 fiscal year, has made several other key appointments in recent weeks.
Michael Hahne has become vice president and general manager automotive at Novelis Europe in succession to Pierre Labat, who has been appointed as vice president of sales and marketing global automotive based at company headquarters in Atlanta, USA.
Marcus Becker, previously director of metal planning and sourcing at Novelis Europe, will succeed Hahne as the vice president and general manager can value stream in Europe.
