Germany – New independent laboratory IDO-Lab has been created for the analysis of platinum group metals (PGMs). Based in the German city of Frankfurt, it will focus on metals derived from automotive catalytic converters and will be global in its outlook.
′IDO-Lab conducts precise analysis by means of spectroscopic methodologies,′ explains shareholder Ralf Duesmann. ′In addition, our expertise in precious metal recycling of automotive catalytic converters grants the highest standards of process management.′ The ultimate goal is to ensure precise results and transparent documentation, he notes.
The venture maintains a ′uniquely programmed′ laboratory software system. It enables analysed data to be automatically imported, thereby fully documenting every single step. Customer samples and their respective process status are clearly identifiable and can be tracked at any time.
For example, multiple analysis methodologies are available to detect precious metals from automotive catalytic converters, says IDO-Lab′s commercial director Christian Spielmann. ′We are well aware of the market dynamics and the respective processes within the value chain,′ he notes.
Some of the extensive services offered by IDO-Lab include precision metals analysis, as well as carbon and sulphur analysis.
