Europe – The Eggersmann Group of Germany, a recycling and waste management engineering expert, expects its business to grow more than 5% this year thanks partly to major new contracts in Israel, Bulgaria and Poland.
Operator of a number of construction, engineering and equipment companies including Backhus and BRT Recycling Technologie GmbH, Eggersmann has been involved in the construction of a recycling and refuse-derived fuel production facility in the Israeli city of Tel Aviv. Expected to be completed in early 2016, the integrated plant’s annual capacity is slated to be 540 000 tonnes.
Another achievement highlighted by the group is the construction of the Han Bogrov composting and biogas facility for the Bulgarian capital Sofia. The facility began operation in 2014 and was designated ‘Building of the Year – Bulgaria’ in that same year. The plant annually processes 24 000 tonnes of green waste for compost and produces biogas from 20 000 tonnes per year of biological waste.
Eggersmann Anlagenbau served as general contractor for the project. Eggersmann has also been selected to build a household waste processing facility for the city of Sofia and has provided conveyor technology, rotary sieves and conveyor belt separators. The plant is due to start up next month. The group also served as the contractor for a mechanical-biological waste treatment facility at Zary in Poland.
‘Zary is one of the large projects in which we use all of our synergies and were able to achieve a more than satisfactory result with our know-how in the most diverse of fields,’ comments ceo Karlgünter Eggersmann.
