Major contract for Straight’s Steelybins

United Kingdom – In the English county of Yorkshire, the Straight environmental products group has won a four-year contract to supply waste and recycling bins to public sector buying organisation YPO. Jonathan Straight, the group’s Chief Executive and founder, says the deal opens ‘an exciting new avenue of potential new customers for these products’.

Steelybins are manufactured from 1.5-mm-thick mild steel panels with internally fully-welded seams. Danish handles are fitted as standard to improve manoeuvrability, while a sump base aids stability when the container is moved and a drain plug enables the discharge of any liquids. The container is also fitted with a lid lock and features a chip nest area allowing a standard RFID chip to be used.

The contract covers the full range of metal four-wheeled bins ranging from 500 litres upwards, and options include the provision of spares, recycling banks and urban systems. YPO’s customer base includes local authorities, schools, colleges and universities, as well as all major local government departments.
