FAB invests in building car dismantling reputation

United Kingdom – The UK’s FAB Recycling Group has invested £350 000 (US$ 555 000) in its hub at Cinderford after a surge in demand for recycled automotive parts. The investment forms part of the company’s plan to strengthen its position as a market leader in the UK vehicle dismantling sector.

Intent on improving its national distribution operation in addition to its online presence, FAB Recycling has invested the capital in its storage, yard and fixtures, and has purchased new transport to ensure next-day delivery of pre-owned parts across the country.

′FAB Recycling is part of a green movement to change perceptions of the industry and save motorists money,′ comments managing director Jason Cross. ′Our clients are the man in the street, blue-chip fleet companies right up to the multi-national insurance companies. All demand a level of service that we need to continue to invest in.′

FAB was established in 1991 as a specialist BMW dismantler. Last November, it launched FAB Bundle: said to be an ′industry first′, this online platform is designed to save the vehicle trade time and money by buying ′bundles of car parts′ in bulk via an auction on the website. The initiative has been well-received and has won FAB Recycling the Combellack Award this year for its ′continued innovation′.
