Germany – UNTHA Recycling Technology (URT) of Germany is supplying a plant for the handling of used computers to All Trade in Tel Aviv, Israel. URT’s managing partner Peter Hessler confirmed to Recycling International during the IFAT trade show held recently in Munich that the plant will be delivered in June and that start-up is scheduled for September.
The facility, claimed to be ′the first of its kind′ for the region, has the capacity to process 3 tonnes of e-scrap per hour. The treatment line is equipped with a range of shredding and separation technologies; in addition to density and magnetic separation, inductively and camera-assisted sorting technologies will be applied.
The major proportion of the treated material will be generated by All Trade itself via its own IT business, while end-of-life appliances from other collection sources will also be handled at the facility. According to URT, All Trade will become ′an important partner′ for the disposal of end-of-life electronics, which is now required under Israeli law.
