Florida’s E-scrap Conference crew ‘operating at 100%’

United States – ‘We’re thankful to report that the storm has moved past Orlando and the rest of the Central Florida region without inflicting significant damage, and the conference is on track to take place next week as scheduled,’ so reports Resource Recycling, organiser of the upcoming E-scrap 2017 Conference.

Hurricane Irma (category 5) counts as the most intense Atlantic hurricane to strike the United States since Katrina back in 2005, taking 55 lives so far. The hurricane, which is believed to have caused around US$150 billion in damage, reached its peak intensity with 185 mph (295 km/h) winds last Wednesday.

At this point, local authorities are focused on cleaning up some scattered debris and addressing power outages. It has been confirmed that the Orlando airport has reopened and began handling both inbound and outbound flights this morning.

‘Of course, the safety of our attendees, vendors and staff remains our top priority. We will continue to closely monitor developments in Orlando and the Southeast US as Irma moves north, and we will be in touch immediately with any updates,’ Resource Recycling says.
