Global electronics recycling trends and developments will be at the heart of the upcoming E-waste World Conference in Frankfurt, Germany. The event is taking place on 26 and 27 June, with many expert talks dedicated to battery recycling and metal recycling.

The agenda is inspired by global market phenomena, such as material demand, logistics, innovative technologies and growing geopolitical tensions. The two-day conference and expo will present new ideas and solutions to secure supply chains in the electronics, batteries, and metals industries.

Critical raw materials are an important theme this year. Over 130 industry specialists are invited to cover various topics, including:

  • automotive metals
  • second-life batteries
  • e-scrap plastics
  • end-of-life photovoltaic management
  • take-back schemes
  • global strategies
  • circular design
  • product repair vs. reuse and recycling
  • ESG reporting
  • regulatory challenges
  • scalable research approaches

Amongst the companies sharing their best practices are International Copper Association, Novelis Europe, TRADIUM GmbH, CEA, Veolia, Jaguar Land Rover and TES SBS.

‘With geopolitical tensions growing and increasing demands for electrification and the energy transition, there is an unprecedented strain on the resources needed for these technologies,’ comments conference producer November Walker.

‘This co-located conference will explore how a strong circular economy can meet this pressure not just through the latest innovations but by exploring effective strategies and framework conditions for the whole lifecycle.’
