Global – Global delivery provider DHL Express has signed an agreement with the Eco-Global Foundation to safely recycle used lead-acid batteries.
Under the new partnership, DHL will store all of its used lead batteries in acid-proof containers made available by the non-profit organisation. These will then be collected and properly recycled.
′DHL is committed to this partnership because we are aware that used batteries are serious pollutants,′ comments Nurhayati Abdullah, DHL Express Philippines country manager. She goes on to note that the collaboration is in line with DHL′s three corporate responsibility focal points, namely: GoGreen (environmental protection); GoHelp (delivering help); and GoTeach (championing education).
Pointing out that lead batteries can be recycled ′infinitely′, Eco-Global relies on a process that enables 100% recycling of a used battery.
