The International Electronics Reuse & Recycling Congress (IERC), organised by ICM, will be held in Valencia, Spain from 21-23 January 2026.
IERC 2026 brings together key players from across the electronics value chain – from mining and production to reuse, recycling, and regulatory oversight.
Over the past two decades, IERC has built a reputation as the go-to platform for shaping the future of electronics recycling and sustainability. The upcoming edition offers a critical stage for discussions on the sector’s response to shifting geopolitical challenges, innovations in IT asset disposition (ITAD), and the transition toward a global circular economy.
Call for abstracts
IERC 2026 invites professionals and thought leaders to submit abstracts on pressing issues facing the electronics recycling sector. Submissions are open until 31 August 2025. It is an opportunity to join the conversation on stage and contribute insights to an audience of international decision-makers.Topics of interest include:
- ITAD: Data sanitisation, refurbishment practices, facility certifications, and contribution to net-zero goals.
- Environmental, social, and governance (ESG): Impact reporting and sustainability metrics.
- Emerging technologies: Applications of AI in electronics recycling, innovation in product and packaging circularity, and insurance risks.
- Battery safety and circularity: Safe handling of Li-ion and LMT batteries and recycling of energy sector electronics like solar panels and wind power.
- Policy and regulatory updates: Insights on global waste shipment rules (Basel Convention, PIC), EU directives (WEEE revision, ESPR, CRM Act), CBAM, global Right to Repair, and the Digital Product Passport.
- Global market perspectives: Updates from North America, Canada, India, and the Middle East, plus new EPR schemes for e-textiles, smart buildings, and more.
