United States – Battery Solutions has appointed Donald Lynch as vice president of operations, according to the US firm, which has become a leader in battery collecting, sorting and recycling across North America and is now pursuing an ‘aggressive growth strategy’.

As vice president of operations, Lynch will be responsible for leading operations, engineering, logistics, QEHS departments as well as supervising the warehouses in Michigan and Arizona. He will also oversee the company’s battery sorting operations and alkaline and nickel metal hydride recycling facility.

Lynch previously worked as a Lean Six Sigma Master Black Belt and Production System Deployment Champion for SKF Group, a multibillion dollar multinational specialising in bearing, seals and mechatronics for some 20 years.

He began his career at Ford Motor Company, acting as divisional launch coordinator and production supervisor. Lynch is a member of the Society of Automotive Engineers, amongst many others.

‘I know and I believe in Battery Solutions’ vision and ability to deliver growth with industry-leading service as we enter new markets and employ new technologies to meet the needs of our customers,’ comments Lynch, who earned a doctorate in philosophy in mechanical (industrial) engineering at Colorado State University as well as a postgraduate certificate in Lean Six Sigma at the University of Michigan.
