Tomra unveils sorting test centre in China

China – Tomra Sorting has opened a test centre in China’s Xiamen region, giving the company the opportunity to show off its technology to the country’s potentially huge customer base.

The centre offers customers a ‘hands-on way to learn directly about the ability of our machines to adapt to a variety of operating environments’, explains Tomra’s Jacob Rognhaug. ‘Here, one can see how our machines and technologies can be flexibly adjusted, through a wide range of settings.’

The test centre directly supports the complete sales process. For example, customers can test their own samples ‘with multiple potential solutions until they find the optimal solution’, Norway-based Tomra points out. Rognhaug adds: ‘We are not just selling machines. We are a solutions company, meeting the challenges of hundreds of potential customers, all of whom have very different needs and priorities.’ The new test centre will be ‘absolutely central to that process’, he underlines.
