Steinert meets demand for high throughputs

Steinert, the German metal separator manufacturer, set itself bold targets when developing the NES 250 eddy current machine: it had to be able to function with a high throughput; concentrate operation on a single material flow; and minimise costs and space requirements.
The separator responds to the growing demand for ever-higher throughputs and for higher-quality sorted products, according to Steinert. The belt drum diameter has been increased to more than 60 cm, while the side bearings and eccentric system bearings have been altered in line with significantly increased masses.
The NES 250 enables large-scale plants to operate with higher throughputs of approximately 130 m³ per hour. With a working width of 2.5 metres, the eddy current separator’s steelwork and material feed have also been adapted to handle increased throughputs.
Steinert has sold 2000 separators worldwide.
