Immark France operates an electrical and electronic waste recycling plant and is based in Beaucaire, near Avignon. The company used to be a part of Immark, owned by One 51 who have recently disinvested and sold all their continental European recycling activities. Immark France was jointly bought by Mr Adrien Antenen and Chimirec. The latter is a recycler of hazardous waste and chemicals and has a large network of collection and treatment sites across France. The Immark operations in Switzerland, Italy and Germany have all also been sold to independent parties.
Sims Recycling Solutions’ European business currently offers an Electronic Asset Recovery and WEEE recycling service through 17 dedicated operations and a number of audited partners. The partnership with Immark provides an important extension to that service within France as European Business Development Director, Marc Faller, explains: ’Immark already offers a comprehensive service within the French marketplace that supports our own quality and environmental objectives. Meanwhile, over time, the site’s flexibility should allow them to develop to support our full range of services.’
Sims Recycling Solutions will be buying all of Immark France’s recovered materials, using its advanced processes to refine the materials and further enhance the recycling and recovery rates achieved by Immark. The partnership will then see each business supporting the other’s clients within their operating markets.
But this is only the start of the partnership as Immark France’s Adrien Antenen explains: ’This is a great opportunity for us within our market. Not only are we now able to offer our clients greater geographical coverage, but we are also looking at broadening our services to include business to business markets and potentially IT asset management.’
