Schred Max by Protoworks Inc. has introduced the Mobile Max – a mobile, trailer-mounted version of its Schred Max 56 SD.
The unit is a heavy-duty, single-axle trailer with air brakes that can be pulled by a highway tractor, roll-off truck or dump truck. The trailer, available with fifth-wheel kingpin or pintle-ring hook-up, is built into the Schred Max mainframe structure for quick set-up at the job site, according to the company.
The Mobile Max, which reportedly meets all legal road requirements covering height, width, length and weight, can be powered by a Caterpillar 60 hp or 120 hp diesel motor although electric motor versions are also available.
The unit’s features include a 5 x 6 foot hopper and a single 9-inch auto-reversing shaft with five double-tipped 4-inch bi-directional cutters that pierce, split, break, tear, shear, flatten, shred and crush virtually any bulky feedstock in both directions. The mobile shredder can even operate in areas with sensitive noise and emission requirements thanks to its fully-enclosed engine compartment, critical grade exhaust silencer, and optional diesel exhaust scrubber, states the manufacturer.
Underneath the Mobile Max is a wide discharge clearance area measuring 5 feet 4 inches high by 10 feet 6 inches wide, allowing most common 20- and 30-yard roll-off containers to slide easily underneath, explains the firm. Other discharge options include self-dumping hoppers, portable stacking conveyors, or removing material directly discharged on the ground with large track or wheel loaders.
