The EU Restrictions on Hazardous Substances (RoHS) Directive outlaws the incorporation of cadmium, lead, mercury, hexavalent chromium or the brominated flame retardants PBDE and PBB into equipment put on the market from July 1.
The European Commission is currently carrying out checks to ensure that member states’ national legislation meets the requirements laid down the directive.
