German recycling equipment supplier Spectro Instruments has released an analysis on plastics in relation to the EU’s RoHS (Restrictions on Hazardous Substances) directive.
Spectro has tested for elements which often appear in plastic packaging materials such as cadmium, lead, mercury and hexavalent chromium. Currently, there are restrictions in force for packaging materials containing these four elements in the EU, although these restrictions are awaiting implementation in federal law.
Spectro used its new Xepos analyser and measured plastic sample granulates 10 times over a relatively long period.
The analysis can be obtained from the company’€™s website: www.spectro.com
